Navigation Assessment Training, the first simulation course to be rolled out in the office, has been completed by a group of senior deck officers, with scope to roll the course out to junior officers an option for the future.

The two-day course refreshes attendees of Collision Regulations Rules and informs of compliance expectations and related practical application.

Sumit Trikha, Northern Marine Management India, Marine Resource Manager, says the increased training capability is of great benefit to the Company.

He said:

“Mumbai has had training classroom space for many years, however this new ARI Simulator now broadens and greatly improves our training services package. Thus far, six officers have undergone Navigation Assessment Training in the office, including two Russian officers. By offering the training in Mumbai we can make considerable cost savings by reducing the travel previously required by officers in the region.”
